Around The World in One Night – Sturgis 2017 Annual Auction a Huge Success!

The Sturgis 2017 Annual Auction was sold out once again with three hundred guests enjoying a fabulous evening at the beautiful Ridge Club in Sandwich! Fun and interactive bidding on fun items like the two-day overnight trip for Wicked Tuna and the customized Sturgis ping pong table drew Sturgis parents to the Bid Board, while Dr. Pete and Sturgis students shared their amazing work on the Sturgis dolphin carrier with guests. There was endless sushi, incredible food stations and gorgeous Student Advisory baskets drawing parents into the Silent Auction room.  At the much-anticipated Live Auction event, parents enjoyed listening to the heartfelt and compassionate speech by Mr. Dunigan-Atlee, Sturgis East’s Lead Math teacher, on this year’s Fund-A-Cause, which raised $7,600 for new computers and IT upgrades!

We can all agree that the cause for this annual Sturgis event was well worth attending this year, as we successfully grossed just over $64,000 – setting a NEW RECORD! Net proceeds from this year’s auction will go directly to Sturgis Charter Public School to fund faculty and departmental requests, student activities and clubs, scholarships and more!

Our sincerest thanks and appreciation to the entire Auction Planning Committee, corporate and local business sponsors, faculty and staff, our auctioneer extraordinaire, Sean Randall and his comedian special guest, and to all the parent volunteers who generously contributed their time, talents and donations to help make this fundraising event such an overwhelming success for Sturgis!

Thank you again for your dedication and support of Sturgis and more importantly, for making a difference!

Dear Sturgis East and West Parents,

We hope you will join us at the Ridge Club Pavilion in Sandwich on Saturday, April 8th for an “Around the World in One Night” at the 2017 Annual Sturgis Auction. TICKETS CAN BE BOUGHT BY CLICKING THIS LINK. The international themed festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails, Silent and Premium Bid Board Auctions, raffles, food stations showcasing US & International cuisines, followed by the Live Auction!

As always, one of the keys to a successful Auction is the donation of many great items. We ask that you consider making a donation. Examples of desirable donations can be viewed on our “Auction Wish List.”  Please watch for our weekly “Wish List Wednesday” emails beginning in February to view an updated list of our auction needs. In addition, we are offering new and exciting advertising opportunities including TV screen advertising at the Ridge Club during our event. Families and businesses can also advertise in our Auction Catalogue. Both are perfect ways to send special messages from your business, pay tribute to a Sturgis faculty member, or send well wishes to your student, their sports team or class. If you wish to make a donation, but are unsure what to send, a monetary contribution can also be made to the Auction.

Last year, we sold out 300 seats at our venue, so please be sure to purchase your tickets early.  Invitations to purchase tickets will be extended further to Sturgis alumni and incoming freshmen parents at the end of February. Tickets are not available for sale at the door.

Let’s make this a night to remember, all for the benefit of Sturgis and our children. Proceeds from the Auction are used to support Faculty and departmental requests, academic programming, scholarships, technology, performing arts, athletics, and more. Join hundreds of fellow parents as we come together as a community to celebrate Sturgis Charter Public School.  We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 8th. We thank you in advance for your participation.

SPA 2016 logoWelcome, parents to the Sturgis Community!

The Sturgis Parents Association, also referred to as SPA, warmly welcomes all parents back to Sturgis! For any family new to Sturgis, SPA is a not-for-profit organization made up of current and alumni parents, from both East and West campuses.

In an effort to help parents navigate the upcoming school year, we’ve provided a Sturgis events calendar, along with descriptions, that are organized and sponsored by SPA. Many of these time-honored traditions are eagerly anticipated by our Sturgis students, faculty and families.  These events would not happen without the dedication and support of parents from each Sturgis class; therefore, it is important for parents of both campuses to get involved.

Come be a part of this great community by joining the Sturgis Parents Association, volunteering and supporting our students and faculty.  Together, we will make this a wonderful Sturgis experience for our senior students.  Best wishes for a great academic year!

All the best,

Kristine Jackson
